Our commitment

We recognize that racism and colonialism – past and present – are contributors to water-quality degradation and impede our collective efforts to protect Lake Winnipeg. These same forces create barriers to employment for historically, persistently, and systemically marginalized groups.

Effective environmental advocacy must be anti-racist and decolonial. LWF is committed to building diversity, equity, and inclusion into our board, staff team and membership base. We believe that a diverse team with unique perspectives and backgrounds makes us stronger.

We encourage BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ candidates to self-identify when applying for this position.

Hiring, promotion, and compensation decisions are based on assessment of employee skills, experience and abilities with respect to the requirements of the position. All LWF staff must be vaccinated against COVID-19 to the full extent possible based on provincial eligibility and access (including boosters).
