Why LWF?

At LWF, you’ll work alongside dedicated individuals who share your commitment to community engagement and environmental stewardship. Our organization offers a unique opportunity within the non-profit sector to advance your career and leave a lasting impact for generations to come.

LWF is committed to employee wellbeing. In July 2024, we adopted a permanent 32-hour workweek in order to improve work-life balance, boost employee engagement, and focus our energy on our strategic priorities. LWF’s 32-hour workweek follows the 100-80-100 model: employees maintain 100% productivity while working 80% of the time for 100% of the pay of a 40-hour workweek.

LWF prioritizes employee health. All LWF staff must be vaccinated against COVID-19 to the full extent possible based on provincial eligibility and access (including boosters).

Our commitment

We recognize that racism and colonialism – past and present – are contributors to water-quality degradation and impede our collective efforts to protect Lake Winnipeg. These same forces create barriers to employment for historically, persistently and systemically marginalized groups.

Effective environmental advocacy must be anti-racist and decolonial. LWF is committed to building diversity, equity and inclusion into our board, staff team and membership base.

We believe that a diverse team with unique perspectives and backgrounds makes us stronger. We encourage BIPOC and 2SLGBTQ+ candidates to self-identify when applying for this position.

Applications are due by end of day on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. Interested applicants should forward their resume and cover letter to apply@lakewinnipegfoundation.org.
