Celebrate Lake Winnipeg at our newest summer fundraising event!

Lake Bash 2017 takes place on Friday, Aug. 18 at Farmers Hall, a recently restored community dance hall just outside town. This not-to-be-missed evening event will feature:

  • Delicious Lake Winnipeg pickerel and all the fixings from our friends at The Pickerel Rig
  • Live music from country rocker Leanne Pearson (performing a special acoustic set), grandfather-grandson guitar-and-fiddle duo Peter & Keenan Karish, and the Vezina Family Band, a multi-generational, old-time country band from Stoney Point, Manitoba 
  • A cash bar...

We are thrilled to launch a new collaboration with Barn Hammer Brewing Company. Big Water, a limited-edition, lake-themed gose, will be available while supplies last for the month of July. Barn Hammer’s generous co-owners Sable and Tyler Birch will be donating $1 from the sale of each bottle to LWF. Giving has never been so refreshing!

Update: A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at this year's walks. Together, we've raised almost $40,000 - and counting! - to support solutions for Lake Winnipeg! Our Walk for Water online campaign will stay active until Sept. 1.

On Aug. 14, we'll be meeting at Saffies General Store to clean up the Albert Beach area! Join us at 11 a.m. to help create a pollution-free community!

Keep your eyes peeled! We'll be at the Alleyways Market curated pop-up shop on Friday, Aug 5. Which alleyway will we be stationed? You'll have to stay on the lookout to find out!

We'll have all of our fundraising materials to sell, including our Kal Barteski wood cut-outs, Hilary Druxman necklaces and more!

Join us in Albert Beach on Aug. 6 for Beats on the Beach for some live music and a pie auction!

Saffies General Store will be hosting some big-name local musicians, including JD Edwards and Panicland! And yes, there will be pie! You can bid on some delicious homemade pies baked with all fresh fruits. We're talking apples, we're talking strawberries, we're talking blueberries! You name it, they've got it.

We recommend bringing your dancing shoes and an empty stomach. See you on Aug. 6!

Join us at Grand Marais Community Central on Aug. 10 at 1 p.m. for some lake-friendly learning and a local fish fry! 

Learn more about zebra mussels and have all your questions answered by our special guest, provincial Aquatic Invasive Species expert Candace Parks! Then, join us outside on the lawn to enjoy live music - and sample some delicious Lake Winnipeg pickerel! We'll also have fun activities for the kids - plus, we'll have all of our fundraising products available for sale AND we'll be offering the chance to win some great prizes! Truly, there's something for everyone.
