Bike to the Beach

Returning for another year on Friday, Aug. 11, this fundraising group ride will challenge cyclists to pedal from Winnipeg to Victoria Beach in support of a healthy Lake Winnipeg.

Since the first ride in 2020, Bike to the Beach has inspired record-breaking levels of community support – and we are excited to continue building on this momentum. All funds raised are used by LWF to support evidence-based advocacy to reduce phosphorus loading to Lake Winnipeg.

What is Bike to the Beach? 

Bike to the Beach is an annual fundraising group bike ride from Winnipeg to Lake Winnipeg’s Victoria Beach in support of LWF. 

 

Do I need to pre-register to participate in the ride? 

You will be considered registered once you’ve (1) set up your personal fundraising page on the CanadaHelps Bike to the Beach 2023 online campaign page and (2) signed all required waivers. *Please note, participation numbers remain limited and all participants must first be approved by event organizers.* 

 

Is there a fee to register?

Perfect weather conditions, the camaraderie of fellow cyclists and a record-breaking amount of money raised in support of a healthy Lake Winnipeg: in all aspects, the inaugural Bike to the Beach ride was a huge success.

Forty-three cyclists took part in the 2020 “founders’ ride,” a 130 km route from Winnipeg to Victoria Beach on Aug. 7. Looking sharp in matching jerseys and helped along by the energy of their fellow riders (and a much-welcomed south wind!), the group rose to the challenge – and had a lot of fun, too.
