About 75 people braved the heat and humidity to participate in our first Walk for Water event of 2015 on July 26 in Dunnottar. Not only was it lots of fun but together, we raised over $5,600 for LWF! Special thanks to all our amazing volunteers and to our celebrity walkers, Canadian water advocate Maude Barlow and country rocker Leanne Pearson.
Wow! On Aug. 10, the community of Victoria Beach raised over $13,000 for the Lake Winnipeg Foundation! Thanks again to everyone who took steps to help the lake and a BIG thank you to our hardworking and enthusiastic volunteer coordinators, Deanne McDonald and Sandy McCaig! Way to go VB!
The thundershowers cleared out just in time for Aug. 10's Walk for Water in Gimli. Thanks to everyone who took part - together, we raised over $2,000 for LWF! These funds support the foundation's ongoing work to restore and protect the health of our lake.
On Monday, Aug. 4, parents, grandparents, kids and dogs from the beautiful lakeside community of Grindstone Provincial Park took steps to raise over $2,000 for LWF!
