Crowdfunding for local water projects, your chance to advocate for wetland protection in Manitoba – plus more!

Dear LWF supporter,
Help us crowdfund for local water projects – and double your impact!
Thanks to the ongoing generosity of LWF supporters over the years, our grants program has provided more than $230,000 in financial assistance to a diverse range of vital initiatives: from cutting-edge research on the lake to accessible water education in schools to practical stewardship projects on the land. Now, we need your help to make this program bigger and better in 2017!
We’re partnering with Small Change Fund on a new online crowdfunding campaign that gives lake-lovers the opportunity to directly support future freshwater projects. Our goal is to raise at least $3,000 by March 31 for our 2017 grants program – and, thanks to our friends at Desjardins Financial Security Investments Inc., your donation to this campaign will be matched dollar for dollar up to a total of $1,500!

Want to see the impact of our grants program first-hand? Join us in Winnipeg at FortWhyte Alive on March 22 (World Water Day 2017) for a special event at which we’ll be announcing the successful recipients of our 2016 granting season. This is your chance to chat with the hardworking people behind these water projects!
The Manitoba government wants to hear from you!
A new Climate and Green Plan is under development and Manitoba’s government is gathering public input through an online survey on energy, land use and conservation measures. Completing this survey takes just a few minutes and is an opportunity for you to speak up for wetland protection and freshwater health.
Here at LWF, we are seeking improved protection of Manitoba’s threatened wetlands though strong regulation and strict enforcement. Join us and speak up for fresh water!
