#LoveTheBoreal Photo Contest
At LWF, we love Lake Winnipeg – and we also love the boreal forest. (Did you know that approximately two-thirds of the water that ends up in Lake Winnipeg filters through the boreal forest? That’s just one of the reasons why Conserving the Boreal Forest is Action 2 of our Lake Winnipeg Health Plan.)
If you love Manitoba’s boreal forest, too, we’ve got some exciting news for you: LWF has partnered with six other organizations to bring you a fun photo contest with some amazing prizes!
The #lovetheboreal photo contest is open to amateur and professional photographers. There are four categories: Action shots, Boreal selfies, Land or waterscapes, and Wildlife.
Enter online at lovetheboreal.ca or by following the campaign on Facebook (BorealManitoba), Twitter (@BorealMB) or Instragram (@borealmanitoba) and sharing your photos, along with where you took them and the hashtag #lovetheboreal.
Photos must be taken in Manitoba—but the contest is open to all residents of Canada.
Entries will be accepted until Monday, September 15, 2014, and each entrant can submit up to four photos each.
Prizes, per category, are:
- First prize: A $400 gift card for MEC
- Second prize: A Ricoh WG-4 waterproof camera from Photo Central (retail value of $300)
- Third prize: A $100 gift card for MEC
