Cycling for Solutions 2017 raises more than $12,000 for citizen science
The third annual Cycling for Solutions ride from Winnipeg to IISD-Experimental Lakes Area (IISD-ELA) was the most successful yet, raising over $12,000 - and counting! - for citizen science and the Lake Winnipeg Community-Based Monitoring (CBM) Network.
A huge thank you to everyone who supported this year’s ride by donating, sharing posts on social media and/or keeping the riders inspired with messages of encouragement. You are making possible the expansion and maintenance of water sampling sites throughout Manitoba. Data collected at these sites will help us pinpoint phosphorus hotspots and invest our resources wisely.
C4S 2017 riders covered 500 km in three days, facing down strong winds, rain, mechanical difficulties and mud – but they rose to the challenge and endured. Below are some photos from this year’s journey.
For those still interested in supporting Roger, Brad, Bruce, Pete, Stephen and Shane, the Cycling for Solutions 2017 donation page will stay active until Sunday, Sept. 10.
Congratulations to the 2017 riders for their significant achievement!
