World Water Day 2017: Celebrating LWF’s newest grant recipients

March 20 to 27 is Canada Water Week, a celebration of water from coast to coast to coast, held annually in the third week of March to coincide with World Water Day on March 22.

This year, we invite you to join us at FortWhyte Alive for a special event at which we will be announcing the 2016 recipients of our grants program and showcasing some of the amazing work being done across Manitoba to restore and protect our shared waters.

  • When: Wednesday, March 22, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Where: FortWhyte Alive – Alloway Reception Centre (1961 McCreary Rd, Winnipeg)

Come out to celebrate local watershed stewardship efforts and chat with the people behind these vital research, education and stewardship projects!

We hope you can join us on March 22!

Did you know...?

Our grants program is made possible by the ongoing generosity of our supporters. This year, in conjunction with Canada Water Week, we’re partnering with Small Change Fund on an online crowdfunding campaign that gives lake-lovers the opportunity to directly support future freshwater projects.

We’re aiming to raise at least $3,000 in support of our 2017 grants program – and, thanks to our friends at Desjardins Financial Security Investments Inc., your donation to this campaign will be matched dollar for dollar up to a total of $1,500! (Click here to learn more or donate now and double your impact.)

Your gift makes a healthy Lake Winnipeg possible.
