LWF's 2017 AGM
You’re invited to the Lake Winnipeg Foundation’s upcoming Annual General Meeting, taking place on Wednesday April 26, 2017, at 7 p.m., at FortWhyte Alive (1961 McCreary Rd in Winnipeg).
This year we’ll be joined by guest speaker Dr. Michael Rennie, Canada Research Chair in Aquatic Ecology and Fisheries at Lakehead University and a researcher at IISD Experimental Lakes Area. He will share the outcomes of his recent research on microplastics pollution in Lake Winnipeg – a groundbreaking study funded in part by LWF’s grants program. We’ll also be sharing more information about our community-based monitoring activities, and how citizen scientists across Manitoba are helping to identify phosphorus hotspots and inform land-management decisions.
LWF’s 2016 annual report will be available online for your review on April 19th, 2017. Members in good standing will elect LWF’s 2017/18 board of directors at the AGM. If you are unsure of the status of your membership, please don’t hesitate to call us at the LWF office, at (204) 956-0436 – we’re happy to help!
Our AGM is a great opportunity to celebrate our achievements, learn about future plans and enjoy the company of fellow members. We look forward to seeing you on April 26th!
