Dear LWF supporter,
Lake Winnipeg defines our province and inspires our people – but the algae blooms are impossible to ignore.
Winnipeg’s North End Water Pollution Control Centre (NEWPCC) is the single largest point source of phosphorus to our lake. Check out our latest video, then join us in advocating for the implementation of phosphorus-removal technology at this sewage treatment facility.
Contact Manitoba’s Minister of Conservation and Climate, as well as your MLA. Remind them that, as the provincial regulator, they have a responsibility to ensure the City of Winnipeg addresses the north end sewage treatment plant’s impact on Lake Winnipeg.
We continue to advocate for improvements to Winnipeg wastewater treatment and are closely monitoring ongoing developments.
Head to our website for more information, plus a helpful template you can use for writing a letter or email.
Inaction is not an option. There’s too much at stake.
Thank you for helping us protect Lake Winnipeg,
The LWF team
